           This project involved the construction of a new VW showroom, the extension of the service department workshop, and the reconfiguring and refurbishment of the reception and office areas. It also involved extensive external works, including construction of a large car park and external connecting driveways. The challenge was to complete the work while ensuring this large dealership was kept operational throughout – a feat which was achieved ahead of contracted time, due to our extensive planning of the staging of the works prior to construction beginning. The construction works in the showroom involved a ground slab, with a combination of pre-cast concrete and exposed structural steel walls, and the front facade incorporated extensive shopfront glass and jointed alucobond panels.

           When TG’s Childcare Centre wanted to open a new premises in Wauchope, they involved us from the beginning. Carried out as a design and construct project, BDM’s role included the acquisition of the land, commissioning and overseeing all consultants, obtaining council and PCA approvals, and completing the design and construction of the entire premises. The construction of the brand new, 48-place childcare centre included extensive bathroom facilities and a commercial kitchen alongside the large educational rooms. The development also included major stormwater facility requirements with onsite, above and below ground detention systems, and 85 metres of inter-allotment drainage to the property behind. The external works to the facility are a standout in the local area, with the landscaping affording natural-looking integrated play areas, including a dry creek bed and boat, as well as a mini-tennis court with synthetic grass. The car park to the entrance of the facility has used a mix of plan and coloured concrete to create a decorative finish with a twist.

           This large scale development involved the construction of 79 x 1 bedroom studio apartments in the coastal region of Port Macquarie. Boasting modern contemporary style living, these apartments include a mix of timber &amp;amp; carpet floors, a generous balcony or courtyard and gorgeous stone bench top kitchens.            BDM have had a long working relationship with Holiday Coast Credit Union. The recently completed fitout of the Taree Branch was another good example of how we manage to get repeat business through our satisfied clientele. Our BDM design team was involved in the initial concept right through to the construct and handover of the new HCCU Branch. Our clients brief was to create a new modern branch of the future that is warm and comfortable for their customers representing community and loyalty within the branch. We worked alongside the signage designers and our clients to achieve the best possible outcome. The project was completed on time and in budget. One of our challenges with this fitout was to keep the branch open and operating throughout the constructions phase, which we managed well.            In completing the external and internal fit-out for this CBA branch, it was important that we reflected the mix of sophistication and style for which this affluent Sydney suburb is known. The uninteresting brick walls were sand-blasted internally to create an unfinished look that contrasts well with the frameless glass consult room partitioning. The project also included a new external facade incorporating auto teller machines, compliant access from the street and a new suspended concrete entry ramp. The end result is a blend of city chic and edgy innovation: a modern twist for a long-standing institution.

           Nestled amongst houses in the inner western suburb of Dulwich Hill, this childcare centre has been created from a re-purposed warehouse building. Part of the roof has been removed and the structure maintained, allowing light and air into the outdoor play areas as well as internal rooms.
